N° 001 — INDEX LONDON · —:—
(02) STUDIO

Studio.

A small studio in London, working worldwide. We engineer software and we make brands. Senior team. Fixed scope. Production code from day one.

Q3 20262 OF 4 ENGAGEMENT SLOTS OPEN · NEXT START 1 JULY · RESERVE BY 15 JUNE · ENGINEERING & AI · BRAND & WEB→ RESERVE A SLOT
(02·1) — ENGAGEMENTS 2 SHAPES OF WORK
  • AI / ML systems, mobile apps, web platforms. We design, ship, and operate. Production code from day one. The bias is toward small, observable models and software you can read. From 6 weeks, fixed scope, senior team only.
  • Identity systems, web presence, design systems. The way we built ours — see /brand for the full kit on display. Includes copy direction if you want it. From 4 weeks, fixed scope, site + brand kit.
(02·2) — HOW WE WORK 4 PHASES · 6–12 WEEKS · FIXED SCOPE
  1. N° 01

    Call.

    30 MIN · FREE

A short intro call. No slides, no upsell. We listen, ask the unfun questions, and tell you what we would do if the project were ours.

    DELIVERABLE

    A short written proposal.

  2. N° 02

    Scope.

    ~1 WEEK · FIXED BID

Fixed price, fixed timeline. We write the spec in plain English — what we will build, how we will know it works, and what is explicitly out of scope.

    DELIVERABLE

    A signed statement of work.

  3. N° 03

    Build.

    4–10 WEEKS

Production from day one. Weekly demo on Fridays. You see commits, not decks. We work in the same Slack you do, and the staging URL is live before the second invoice.

    DELIVERABLE

    Working software, in your repo.

  4. N° 04

    Ship.

    DIRECTOR SIGN-OFF

Every project leaves the studio after a co-founder review. We hand over the code, the docs, the keys, and a one-page runbook. Then you own it.

    DELIVERABLE

    Production handover.

(02·2b) — PRINCIPLES 5 RULES WE DO NOT BEND
  • N° 01 Senior team. No juniors learning on your dollar.
  • N° 02 Production from day one. No throwaway prototypes. No UI mocks dressed up as roadmaps. The first commit is the first commit.
  • N° 03 Fixed scope. No retainer creep. No surprise invoices. Engagement-shaped work, not month-shaped.
  • N° 04 Ship, then iterate. We do not write decks. We make the thing and use it.
  • N° 05 Director sign-off. Every project is reviewed and signed off by a co-founder before it leaves the studio.
(02·3) — CAPABILITIES 12 AREAS

AI · MACHINE LEARNING

  • AI agents & copilots.

Task-specific assistants, retrieval-augmented systems, LLM application development.

  • Computer vision.

Classification, detection, segmentation. Production-grade pipelines, on-device where possible.

  • Natural-language interfaces.

Conversational UI, extraction, summarisation. The model is the last decision, not the first.

  • On-device ML.

CoreML, TensorFlow Lite, ONNX. Private by construction.

MOBILE

  • iOS · iPadOS · macOS.

Native Swift / SwiftUI. The whole Apple platform — see Flux Money for our take on it.

  • watchOS.

Companion experiences. Small surfaces with real utility.

  • Android.

Kotlin · Jetpack Compose. When the project demands it.

WEB

  • Web platforms.

Multi-tenant SaaS, marketplaces, dashboards. Next.js, Astro, Remix — chosen per project.

  • APIs & infrastructure.

REST · GraphQL · gRPC. Postgres / SQLite / Redis. We design schemas before we write controllers.

  • Marketing sites.

Like this one. Astro + Tailwind, hand-tuned.

BRAND

  • Visual identity systems.

Wordmark, palette, type system, motion budget. See /brand for the full kit on display.

  • Design systems.

Figma + code. Component libraries that survive contact with production.

(02·4) — DISCIPLINES
  • We design and ship machine-learning systems that earn their place in the product. The bias is toward small, observable, on-device or single-region models — not towering infra. We pick the problem before the model.
  • Native where it matters, cross-platform where it does not. We build with the OS, not against it — the stack is chosen per project, never by default.
  • Server-rendered first, hydrated only where it earns the bytes. We have built marketplaces, dashboards, editors, and content platforms — most of them with Next.js, Astro, or Remix, with Postgres or SQLite behind them.
  • Design is not decoration. We work in code as much as in Figma, and we measure design decisions against the same bar as engineering: does it hold up at 2× the data, on a worse network, in six months?
